There are several leadership development workshops or retreats held throughout the year. In the fall semester there are retreats for the leadership of the Associated Students, (student government), the Vintage Days Planning Committee and the Fresno State Leadership Program.
A variety of programs, workshops, and conferences are available. The Leadership Program, a collaboration between Associated Students, Student Activities, and the University Student Union, engages students so that they may learn the theoretical framework and concepts of leadership, commit to responsible leadership in their communities, and engage and empower others to do the same. A newly created subunit of the Leadership Program, titled the Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) program provides an opportunity to be part of a collective group of students that will learn leadership skills through attending workshops, retreats, guest lectures, and volunteer service. All students must apply in the fall semester to be part of the program. The Fresno State Leadership Program engages students in learning the foundations of leadership, enriching their collegiate experience and that of others. Students actively commit to responsible leadership in their community and develop the skills and abilities to succeed. The Program is sponsored by Student Activities & Leadership Development, Student Affairs, Associated Students and Target.
