BY ALPHABETICAL ORDER (A):
ADVANCED
TECHNOLOGY ENTERPRISES:
(November, 2003) To provide students with opportunities for managing
new manufacturing technology; and provide association and interaction with
the faculty and administration of Fresno State.
ADVOCATES FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES:
(April, 1996) To provide students with opportunities for association and interaction with
the faculty and administration of Fresno State and to instill the desire for
self-improvement, scholastic excellence and the cultivation of civic responsibility.
AEROSPACE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE:
(November, 2003) To provide students with opportunities to participate
in activities relating to Air Force ROTC. AEF is a charitable
organization that helps to sponsor many Air Force ROTC events. The
main purpose is to provide alternative leadership training and team
building opportunities while enhancing the morale, welfare and recreation
opportunities available to Air Force ROTC Cadets.
AFRICAN-AMERICAN STUDENT SOCIAL WORK ASSOCIATION:
(May, 1989) To provide mentorship
and support to its members and campus community. The organization
seeks also to provide outreach services to the wider community while
always promoting and educating others about the African American
culture.
ALCOHOL ADVISORY COUNCIL-STUDENT SUBCOMMITTEE:
(January,
2005) To allow
students to voice their opinions on campus related alcohol issues to the
alcohol advisory council. It is to educate the campus community on
alcohol related issues and to instill the desire for self-improvement,
scholastic excellence and the cultivation of civic responsibility.
ALL THINGS FOOD AND BEVERAGE CLUB:
(September, 2005) To provide education and training on all
things food and beverage (preparation, consumption, menu and meal
planning, new food items, etc.), to provide a fun and relaxing
environment to relieve the stresses of every day life and to cultivate
new friendships with fellows Fresno State students, staff and the
community.
ALPHA DELTA
SIGMA:
(May, 1970) To encourage the understanding of current theories and
procedures in the practice of advertising, to provide students of
advertising with the opportunity to become acquainted not only with their
peers both with professional practitioners as well, to encourage students to
adhere to the highest ideals and principles of the practice of advertising
and to instill in them a professional attitude.
ALPHA GAMMA RHO:
(February, 2003) To be the premier professional
agriculture organization focusing on preparing its members to be better men,
and providing opportunities for life long success.
ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA:
(April, 1970) To cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, improve
the social status of the African-American race; promote unity and friendship among college
women.
ALPHA KAPPA PSI:
(1952) To further the individual welfare of its members; to foster scientific research in
the fields of commerce, accounts, and finance.
ALPHA
PHI EPSILON:
(October, 2006) To recognize with
distinction successful civil engineering students and to help in the
development of their scholarship, character, practicality, and
sociability and to contribute to the betterment of the Civil Engineering
department at California State University, Fresno, the civil engineering
profession, and society.
ALPHA
PHI OMEGA:
(April, 1984) To assemble college students in a national
service fraternity. To develop leadership, promote friendship and
provide service to humanity.
ALPHA
PI SIGMA:
(September, 2006) To encourage and
promote academic excellence of our members through the establishment of
study groups, tutoring services and mentoring. To establish a
scholarship fun to benefit members of the organization and/or transfer
and high school students. To inspire unity, friendship and
sisterhood among its members; to promote and develop the attainment of
leadership skills for its members in order to serve the organization and
the Latino community.
ALPHA XI DELTA:
(1952) To provide a source of continuing friendships and pleasant associations among women
students.
ALPHA ZETA:
(February, 2006) To be the honorary agriculture organization for
graduate and undergraduate students with qualities of character, leadership,
personality, and high scholastic achievement at California State University,
Fresno.
AMERASIA
ORGANIZATION:
(August, 1974) To unify American-Asians with all people by becoming better acquainted
through understanding and sharing of cultures and being of service to the American-Asian
community.
AMERICAN
CRIMINAL JUSTICE ASSOCIATION - LAMBDA ALPHA EPSILON:
(December, 1988) To improve criminal justice through educational
activities; foster professionalism in future law enforcement and
correctional personnel.
AMERICAN HUMANICS STUDENT ASSOCIATION:
(December, 2000) Providing its members with co-curricular opportunities
with the intent of enriching student professional leadership.
AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE
CLUB:
(April, 1998) To provide students with opportunities for association and
interaction with the faculty and administration of Fresno State and to instill the desire for self-improvement,
scholastic excellence and the cultivation of civic responsibility. In
addition, the organization will encourage the use and development of ASL as
its primary goal.
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CIVIL
ENGINEERS:
(November, 1967) To encourage the development of a professional consciousness, to afford
an opportunity for civil engineering students to become acquainted and to practice working
together effectively and provide friendly contact with the engineering profession.
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF INTERIOR DESIGNERS:
(March, 1976) To explore the nature of the interior design profession, its development
problems, leadership, and goals; promote contacts and interaction with the environmental
design professionals.
AMERICAN
SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS:
(August, 1992) To provide its members with opportunities
to gain broader insight into the engineering profession by sponsoring
meetings which will bring practicing engineers to the campus. Arrange
field trips to research engineering establishments, sponsor student projects
of the teams interest, and participate in annual ASME events. It shall
also be the purpose of this organization to encourage good fellowship among
mechanical engineering students and their faculty.
ANTHROPOLOGY CLUB:
(December, 1968) To promote an interest in anthropology within the college community.
APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS CLUB:
(October, 2003) To facilitate communication and networking between
psychology students at Fresno State; to provide information about private
and public employment and academic opportunities in Applied Behavior
Analysis.
ARMENIAN STUDENTS
ORGANIZATION:
(November, 1974) To cultivate a spirit of appreciation toward Armenian history, heritage,
culture and the Armenian language.
ARNOLD AIR SOCIETY:
(August, 1965) To create a more efficient relationship among Air Force officer candidates
within Air Force Reserve Office Training Corps (AFROTC); to aid in the development of
effective Air Force Officers, and to further the purposes, traditions, and concepts of the
United States Air Force.
ASIAN SOCIAL WORK
ORGANIZATION:
(February, 2003) To provide the social work students with interaction
and support for one another, and with the administration and faculty of
Fresno State; enhance cultural awareness within the university and
community; promote academic success and scholastic excellence; the
betterment of the profession of social work and to instill the desire for
social action in the community.
ASIAN STUDENT
ASSOCIATION:
(December, 2003) To promote Asian cultural awareness regardless
of ethnic, religion, or career choice; and to provide an outlet for
opportunities to associate and interact with fellow students and members
of the Fresno community in order to obtain a better understanding of Asian
cultures.
ASSOCIATION FOR COMPUTING MACHINERY:
(November, 1982) To promote an increased knowledge of the science, design, development,
construction, language, and applications of modern computing machinery.
ASSOCIATION
FOR INFORMATION MANAGEMENT:
(December, 1983) To provide for the pursuit of knowledge in the areas
of computer related information sciences.
ASSOCIATION
FOR THE PROMOTION OF INTERNATIONAL CULTURE:
(August, 2004) To provide students, faculty and staff of the
University with activities that promote the study and celebration of the
cultures of the world.
