Advising
and Schedule Planning
The ILE Program provides
academic advising to ILE eligible students.
Advisors can assist you in developing a course
schedule that meets remedial requirements, is
balanced between difficult and not-so-difficult
courses, and directs you in meeting graduation
requirements of the university.
Study Areas and
Tutoring
ILE students are encouraged to
utilize the Learning Resource Center for dedicated
study space. Research indicates that students who
schedule study time in a consistent environment at a
consistent time help them be more academically
successful. Tutoring is available at no cost
through the Learning Resource Center in various
subjects and courses at Fresno State. ILE Outreach
Assistants work to assist our students in finding a
tutor and time that meets the students’ needs.
PowerLearn
ILE students are encouraged to
participate in PowerLearn. This program is
available on a limited basis and is aimed at
providing you with skills, supplies, and the
confidence to continue your Fresno State experience
on the right track. PowerLearn students participate
in a series of academic related workshops and
tutoring program.
Benefits of the PowerLearn
program include:
- Dedicated study
group/tutoring hours for PowerLearn students
ONLY
- Free school supplies
(pens, pencils, scantrons, bluebooks, study
guides, etc.)
- Free ILE book-bag given at
the completion of the workshops
- Academic advising and
assistance with the registration process
- A chance to network with
fellow classmates
Requirements of students:
- Attend academic related
workshops, scheduled throughout the semester.
- Participate in dedicated
study time where PowerLearn tutors facilitate
group studies and offer individualize tutoring.
- Attend one-on-one academic
advising sessions; including assistance with
registration.
- Demonstrate commitment to
your education and a positive attitude!
