Fresno affords you a moderate cost of living and an excellent academic experience. Few full scholarships are available, but several programs assist students with partial aid. International students are eligible to apply for university scholarships, which range from U.S. $100 to $2,000 per academic year.
International students may work on campus after their first successful semester and graduate students may be selected for teaching or graduate assistantships by their department.

- Request your sponsor to send a bank letter/statement showing the amount and source of support. If your sponsor is a government agency, organization, or other group, you must attach a separate letter from your sponsor that includes the terms of the sponsorship (in English).
Financial Assistance
Thank you for your interest in studying at California State University, Fresno. Since any U.S. education can be expensive, we offer several ways to assist you with your educational expenses.
Our financial assistance is intended to help you, not pay for your entire cost of education. Full support scholarships are very difficult to obtain. Different forms of assistance are available, but you must submit your complete formal application for admission and be admitted to qualify for the following:

- Applications can be downloaded from the Financial Aid homepage listed below. The application period is generally September 1 through November 1 for the following fall semester.

- Apply directly to the graduate major department.
- On-campus work
- After one semester, you may apply for jobs on campus with approval of International Student Services and Programs.

- Deadline for consideration for the fall semester is May 1. Only applicants with truly outstanding records are able to secure tuition waiver scholarships. Before any consideration can be made, the university must receive your complete formal application for admission.

Hardship tuition waiver
- Hardship tuition waivers are limited and priority is given to graduating students. First year students are not eligible for this program. Additional information and the application forms are available in the ISSP office.
- There are other sources of financial aid information. The following publications can be found in large libraries, U.S. embassies, U.S. Information Service (USIS) offices, and/or overseas advising centers. Be sure to ask about national programs in your country as well.

Contact local, national, or regional offices of Rotary, Kiwanis, Fulbright, and the Institute of International Education. The U.S. Agency for International Development Missions may have scholarships for degrees and academic training programs as well.
